Since the Piedmont Triad Chapter covers such a large region, we host five Walks across our area each year. The Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Burlington, and Asheboro Walks are scheduled in the fall, while the High Point Walk takes place in the spring.
Historically, the Walks are the Piedmont Triad Chapter’s most important fundraising events each year, raising a total of more than $1 million annually to help JDRF find a cure.
There are opportunities for families and businesses to field Walk Teams and compete for bragging rights in a number of categories—dollars raised, number of team members, most creative t-shirts, etc. You may hold other fundraising events—such as selling Plushland stuffed animals, hosting “Jeans Days” at your workplace, encouraging local merchants to host Sneaker Sales, or even hosting a lemonade stand or bake sale—to increase the overall dollars your team raises.
No matter how you choose to get involved, you, your family, your colleagues, and all your team members will feel great satisfaction when you work together—and walk together—for a cure.
IMPORTANT: All walkers and teams must register via JDRF’s Walk Central!
